How The Contest Works:
*The Expanding Universe Contest is open to anyone — and everyone! — who has never, ever, cross-your-heart-&c read a Liaden Universe® novel.
*Reply to this blog entry with your name, and where you heard about the contest. From those who respond, 36 lucky winners will be chosen by drawing. If 36 or less people enter the contest, then everyone’s a winner!
*Each winner will be asked to provide their email address for purposes of receiving the code that will allow them to download their prize.
*A list of winners — with links to their websites, should they wish, and links to the website where they heard about the contest — will be published in this blog.
Small Print: The contest begins RIGHT NOW and will end at midnight Eastern Daylight Time (4:00 a.m. GMT) Friday, July 16. A list of winners will be posted on this blog on Saturday, July 17. It is the responsibility of the winners to contact Sharon Lee according to the instructions given with the winner’s list. Prizes will be held for 12 days.
It’s that simple. So! Those friends you wanted to get hooked on the Liaden Universe®? Point ‘em this way. Been meaning to try this Liaden thing, but never got around to it? We’re making it as easy for you as we can.
Let’s do this thing.

…July 16, perhaps?
I posted this to my blog here. I talk about these books frequently.
eep! I knew there had to be an error lurking in all of that somewhere.
Thanks for the catch! All fixed now.
I posted. I hope my e-reading friends come and comment!
This should work better. :\
I heard about the contest here <http://rolanni.livejournal.com/> and a few moments later here <http://kinzel.livejournal.com/>.
[Aaaargh!]
I read about the contest at “The Galaxy Express”.
Squee! What an awesome and generous contest. Please exempt me, because I’m already a fan.
Bloggers, if you’re interested, I created a post-ready announcement for the Expanding Universe Contest. You can pick it up at The Galaxy Express:

Hi–I read about your contest at TeleRead today (7-4-2010). It seems well suited for me since I love ebooks but have never read any book in this series, in fact, this is the first I’ve ever heard of it… but then, I mainly read a lot of romance novel ebooks…
Heard about this on the Lois McMaster Bujold list.
Thank you for the contest.
I read about this at http://sraun.livejournal.com/715546.html, which is Scott Raun’s LiveJournal.
I don’t recall ever reading any Liaden universe stories, so please sign me up. 🙂
I heard about it on the Lois McMaster Bujold mailing list.
Read about this from Scott Raun’s entry over on Livejournal. I haven’t read anything by these authors, though I got a freebie book at Duckon this year. I may never get around to reading it though since I don’t really do paper anymore. The electronic version would certainly go into my reader and make it to the top of the list eventually though.
My email address is included in the entry.
I’ve heard of the Liaden books before, when you first went under Baen’s wing, but haven’t read any yet. It’s one of those things I’ve been meaning to do, so even if I don’t win, I’ll probably spring for the first one from Webscriptions anyways. 🙂
I heard about this from Teleread’s blog post (that Chris Meadows mentioned above).
I heard about this contest from a friend on LiveJournal– http://sraun.livejournal.com/715546.html is the entry. Tol the best of my knowledge,I’ve never read an Expanding Universe series book, but I’d be delighted to meet a new series!
Hi there! I heard about this contest on the MNStF email list. I’ve heard about the Liaden books, but I’ve never read one.
Hi! I heard about this contest through a mailing list of the Minnesota Scientifiction Society (Mnstf), where a member with a Baen webscription mentioned it.

I heard about this contest from the Lois Bujold mailing list. I’m just about to inherit my dad’s old Kindle 2 (he’s upgrading), and I’d love love love a Liaden book for it!
Heard about it from Scott Raun on the lois-bujold listserv. I’ve actually never read your stuff, so HIT ME.
I read about it on the Lois McMaster Bujold mailing list. Not sure how I missed these books for all these years.
I caught word of your awesome contest on the also-awesome The Galaxy Express. Sounds like a series I should investigate, regardless of the outcome of your contest!
I have never, ever read any of these books or for that matter, anything by these two authors. However, I do like to share. If you send them to me, I’ll send them around when I’m done with them!
I heard about the contest (and the books) at thegalaxyexpress.net. Thanks for the contest!
Hi
I read about this contest at TeleRead today at http://www.teleread.com/2010/07/04/sharon-lee-steve-miller-hold-contest-to-give-away-free-e-books/
I have not read this series earlier. Based on the TeleRead article, I have read the sample chapters and would be interested in being considered for this giveaway.
Thanks
I haven’t read these books but I read Eagles Over the Kennebec on a regular basis and I read about the contest there. Would love to toss my name in the hat for a new series to read.
I read about the contest i the Lois McMaster Bujold mailing list ;o)
I also heard about this from Scott: http://sraun.livejournal.com/715546.html
I’m fairly sure that most of my friends from the Bujold List have read them, and I am probably the sole person who hasn’t yet, as my reading lists have taken some weird weird joggles.
Hi Sharon, I’ve posted about it on my LJ. My only regret is the friends who I have lent my copies who will not now be able to enter…
Hello! I’ve head about the Liaden books but I haven’t yet read any of them. I’d love to try them, though!
I heard about this contest from a LiveJournal friend: http://sraun.livejournal.com/715546.html.
Hi! I heard about this via my friend E. at http://ariaflame.livejournal.com/66058.html
I know I’ve never read any Liaden books, because they are very hard to get in Australia!
I hear about the series (and contest) via http://www.teleread.com/. And love http://www.webscription.net great books and no DRM.
Saw posting of content on Rolanni’s website.
Hello! My good friend is an avid reader of these books, and she told me about this contest. She’s loaned me two of these books, but I haven’t opened them yet.
Saw this on Scott Raun’s LJ page. The books aren’t readily available in Australia so ebook editions would be good.
I read about this contest at The Galaxy Express and posted about it on my blog:
http://ulbrichalmazan.blogspot.com/2010/07/expanding-universe-contest.html
I’m another one who heard about it on the Lois McMaster Bujold mailing list
I just finished Eric Flint’s “Rats, Bats and the Ugly” so I am familiar with Baen. I heard of this contest on Teleread. I have not read any of this series before. I hope it is as good as any of the other Baen authors I have read so far. Eric Flint’s “1632” is the first e-book I have read and I have not looked back since. I started on a Palm T|X and now have 3 Kindles.
Heard about this in Teleread. Thank you!
Hello! My name is Jeff and I heard about this contest on the SF Signal website. I’ve never read any of the these books but would like to give them a try.
I read about this on ariaflame’s LJ at http://ariaflame.livejournal.com/66058.html
My sister told me about this contest. She read about it here: She’s been wanting me to read Liaden universe stories for a while. Also since I’m a librarian, she wants me to get the library involved. This works because I can donate the book to the library.
Please add me!
I haven’t read any of the series and I am always looking for books to blog about.
I’ve also blogged about the contest here:
http://gnostalgia.wordpress.com/2010/07/05/expanding-universe-contest/
Linked at http://jhetley.livejournal.com/1146923.html
I heard about this contest on a blog from a fellow student in the Teacher Librarian Masters program at the U of Alberta. I have not heard of this series before and will be interested to check it out. I have posted an entry on my blog to see if any of my students have read it…

I wat one!
I knew about the contest from sfsignal.com
Hi. Can I toss my hat into the ring? I heard about this giveaway at Chris Meadows’ TeleRead blog, I’ve never read anything by Lee or Miller, and I’d love to set that right.
Cheers!
