My favorite Georgette Heyer is The Grand Sophy. But These Old Shades and Devil’s Cub are also worth a re read or 3 or 4.
I’m afraid I wore out Sophy; I read it so often, that I don’t enjoy it anymore. The Masqueraders is my hands-down favorite Heyer ever, and I try to limit my re-reads, because, after all, there are many, many worthy Heyer titles. Steve and I had a grand time with The Talisman Ring, and The Reluctant Widow. He has a fondness for The Toll-Booth, which is probably my least favorite of the Regencies.
I have most of the titles in e-books. We remodeled last year and since my husband is 71 and I will be 70 at year end decided to offer the books to the kids. If they did not want them they were donated. As the Heyers’ were initially available in e-book form at a very reasonable price, I bought them all. No picking and choosing needed.
My mother introduced to to the books. So reading one brings good memories.
