Tuesday. Sunny and cold. The weatherbeans are adamant in their prediction of rain. We Shall See.
Trash and recycling at the curb. Did gym-like things at the gym. Car gassed up. Cat browsing stations replenished. Dishwasher emptied. Second cup of tea to hand.
Breakfast was … hours ago, actually. Um. Ah. Cottage cheese, grapes, toasted cheese bread. Lunch will be beanloaf and gravy over bread with a side salad.
Picked up yesterday’s mail today (yes, yes, but I don’t care to walk up to the street in the Stygian Darkness of 4:30pm, which is when my mail is typically delivered. I’m not expecting anything so precious that it can’t wait until tomorrow morning.) Progressive Insurance wants to sell me auto insurance, naturally, but they also want to sell me pet insurance, which — is a thought.
Those who have pet insurance — pros and cons?
ALL of the cats slept with me last night and who can blame them? It was cold.
Before that, we all watched the first episode of Magpie Murders, and enjoyed ourselves. Trooper is not impressed with Andreas, FWIW, and I’m a little uneasy, myself. I want to like him, but . . . . Firefly likes Mr. Pund, but then, she likes older men. Rook liked the magpies — family connections, I think.
I — am puzzled, but willing to continue to play. I did like the montage of the Writer at Work — very true to life, except Alan’s hand-drafts seemed much cleaner than any hand-draft has a right to be. The mysteries are interesting. I had been fearing a rewrite of Naked Once More, but we don’t seem to be going there.
Susan is — an editor. Who works for an agenting firm, and who obviously comes from money, because — that flat! And — she’s an editor. She reads client manuscripts curled up in a pretend comfy chair, and at the dining room table. In all of that flat there is no office.
Second episode penciled in for this evening.
Other than that, I have a List, and I’d better get to work.
What’s everybody doing today?
Woke up, reset heat. HVAC tech due tomorrow with maker rep in tow. I hold out hope something will be fixed. Breakfast burrito enjoyed along with coffee and chat with the sweetie about programming things. Now in my office, doing different programming things. Later when it’s warmer I might go out and dig up more honeysuckle and privet, which was allowed to overrun the perimeter by previous owners. It’s great exercise.
Pet insurance. We have it for our three indoor cats, but not for the 15 or so community cats we feed. Cons – not cheap and has gone up. Pros – it is best for big stuff. Don’t pay for insurance that does regular vet visits. Our calico, Mafalda, better known as Mafi had a broken leg and it paid about half the costs. I look at this is emergency care insurance and pleased to have it. Examine different providers. Like human insurance, most won’t cover pre-existing issues. All cat insurance I’ve seen is you pay and then they reimburse. Your Maine Coons are great and enjoy seeing pics of them. Thank you for continuing the Liaden Universe which has brought great joy!
Oooo….hope you continue to enjoy Magpie Murders. I liked it even better when I rewatched it before this year’s second season, which actually is treated as a whole. new. thing–called Moonflower Murders. The conceits of the first series is no longer a surprise, and seems a bit more awkward this time around, but the mystery is new and I continue to be loyal to author-scriptwrtier Anthony Horowitz and his producer wife Jill Green ever since Foyle’s War.
Good to see you back among the blogerati!
I never got pet insurance, because by the time we thought of it, the problem was already extremely pre-existing in my dude, twice a year. Luckily we finally put up the money to travel and see a specialist and they fixed it with a pill that cost us less than a dollar a day. He lived to be 18 without costing another 8K a year in operations and ouchies. I always said I wished we could get him on our Obamacare.
My heart cat was a half-Coon boy. Please give all your big floofs a skritch for me.
