So I was slightly confushed. This morning’s tour was of Messalonskee Lake aka Snow Pond. No sand cranes sighted this trip, but lots of loons, some terns, and a few eagles.
Always nice to be on the water. Cap’n Gary was very knowledgeable about the lake, the history, and the famous people who live on the shore. Three hours may have been a tad too long, but I couldn’t say I was bored at any point.

I have also been to the library, the car wash, and the gas station. I need to do my duty to the cats, and then I b’lieve I shall try making one of these blueberry smoothie things.

Thank you for sharing your loon chicks. I came up on Sandhill cranes in a drainage ditch with long-legged chicks feeding with them. Was so startled I was past them before I could grab my phone.
The pseudo-pond in the nearby soybean field has mostly dried up. If we get enough rain this weekend, I might have a shot at crane photos there on Monday.
Here, it’s too many balls in the air. Relocation, possible build, getting all my things into the same state and even storage place, medical, legal, will I go to the cabin next month– Argh?
But dropped off my primary ballot. 🙂
