- You may now pre-order signed and/or personalized copies of Liaden Universe® Constellation Volume Four from Uncle Hugo’s SF Bookstore. Here’s your link. For the purposes of this discussion “signed” means “the authors will write their names on the half-title.” “Personalized” means “the authors will write their names on the half-title and a short inscription of your choice.” Note: The authors reserve the right to refuse a particular personalization if they should find it offensive for any reason. The authors’ judgement in this may not be appealed. Should the authors refuse a personalization, they will still — and only — sign their names.
- Fortune’s Favors: Adventures in the Liaden Universe® Number 28 is on sale as an ebook at Baen, BN, Apple, and a host of others. Amazon reports that it has fixed its error concerning the “Start of Book,” and all new customers will download a book that will open to the first chapter. If you were an early adopter, and therefore have a broken book, you may delete your book from your device, and re-download the repaired book to your device.
- Shout of Honor: Adventures in the Liaden Universe® Number 29 is in production, and will, in a well-run universe, be available for purchase on May 15. Watch the skies. . . .Honor is a brand-new novella which looks in on some briefly-seen characters. It happens in-between Neogenesis and Accepting the Lance.
Yay for SHOUT OF HONOR. I do enjoy these short excursions into side characters (such as Tommy Lee) and situations in the Liaden Universe. Love the main books too but the novellas help to sustain while I wait for the main course of a new book.
I have already gobbled up FORTUNE’S FAVORS in both e-book and printed copy and am glad to know there is more coming since it’s still a long wait for ACCEPTING THE LANCE.

Ditto everything Anne said in her note!
My hard copy of “Fortune’s Favors” came last night. It’s lovely to have both copies. I’m rereading it already. Something about the tactile and smell of books and knowing I will have them long past when my Kindle has died is wonderful.
No spoilers – just to say, “Folks, FF is a wonderfully crafted story, new and familiar characters to love. AND the “Accepting the Lance” outtake is a taste treat that ‘gilds the lily’.
“Shout of Honor” is not up on Amazon or Baen yet. Okay, 15th May is in my phone / diary.
BTW, For about 3 years now, I’ve been diligently working at putting all the stories and books in chronological order. I would appreciate it if you would please give me pointers about where to put “Revolutionist”, “Command Decision” and “Dark Secrets”. I’m assuming “Excerpts from ‘Two Lives” comes way after “Accepting the Lance”, am I right?
Thank you for all your hard work! I have to share – My 12 year old granddaughter has gone beyond Daddy’s copies of ‘The Theo” books to find other Liaden books on his shelf she can relate to (without that mushy grownup stuff, but she’s given you the thumbs up for the same sex relationships). She grabbed “Release the Virgins” when it came in the letter box and was delighted to find your stories among the rest.
Are there any new stories in Constellation 4 which haven’t already been published as chapbooks? It’s difficult to see from the publishers’ site. I know its really good to get the collections if you don’t have the stories but having already bought most, if not all, of the chapbooks, I prefer to know before I spend money on a new collection. Great to have the short stories while awaiting a new book.
I’ve posted this information more than once, and I’m tired. The information is on this page: http://www.pinbeambooks.com/ebooks-you-want-to-read/adventures-in-the-liaden-universe%c2%ae/
