As hard as the words were yesterday; that’s how easy they were today.
One thousand thirty-five new words written, bringing the WIP to 72,240ish, total.
Which brings us, by routes mysterious and circuitous, to tea.
I really did go nuts. That said, all teas listed are 15g/0.5oz sample bags.
FIRST, my undoing: The Upton Black Tea Flight for Beginners, which is 5 sample bags; one each of: #1 Tippy Orthodox Darjeeling; Tippy Orthodox GFOP Assam; Ceylon BOP; Rukeri Estate Rwanda BOP; Yunan FOP Select. These teas are variously from India, Sri Lanka, and China.
THEN, I scored a free sample bag of Assam FTGFOP1 Select Blend from, of all places, Germany.
Now we hit the nuts part, the Tea Flight having Opened My Eyes to the possibilities inherent in buying samples.
THE REST OF THE STORY: Leadenhall Street Breakfast Blend (USA); River Shannon Breakfast Blend (USA); Bond Street English Breakfast (Germany); Scottish Breakfast Blend (USA); Mincing Lane Breakfast Blend (USA); Colombian Breakfast Blend Organic (Columbia); South Street Breakfast Blend (USA); Black Label Breakfast Blend (Germany); CTC Irish Breakfast Blend (USA).
Yes, these are all black teas. Call me boring. I’m looking forward to trying each sort, and to seeing if I can (1) tell the difference and/or (2) have a preference.
My favorite black tea ever, so far, is Upton’s Original Blend Russian Caravan (England). My fall-back black tea is Harney’s Irish Breakfast.
I kind of don’t get The Point of English Breakfast Tea. Lapsang Souchong, which at first glance oughta be right up my alley, is too peaty (I don’t like Scotch, either), and fruit-flavored teas are just — no.
I do quite like Harney’s Organic Peppermint, Ginger, and Chamomile teas; and the Lemon-Chamomile from the Republic of Tea; as well as what used to be called Buttermint Tea (now Peppermint and Creamy Vanilla) from Twinings.
And that? Is the record of my crimes.
