I am one of her beta readers and found it an interesting and unique story. If you can say so here in public, I’m wondering what you thought of it?

I usually will not read zombie stories, and I went in knowing this was a zombie story, told from the other side, so to speak. The author writes a clean hand; the characters were interesting, and I was at no point tempted to throw the book across the room. It might have been a little lightly sketched at some points, but it wasn’t my job to either beta read or edit, only to read it for enjoyment, and it did its job.
