  1. I am glad to see that you are beginning to re-read Mary Stewart – c.f., *Touch Not the Cat*. Thank you for reminding me of a favorite author, from years ago.

  2. I was happy to see Jacqeline Kirby (E. Peters) appear in the list, because I thought Ms. Peters had dropped her.
    On Mary Stewart:
    I was introduced to her by the school librarian when I was in 8th grade, I think.
    After I began to get paid for what I wrote, I thought I’d figure out how she made a scene come alive, even though there were no humans or animals in it. I used colored pencils and made arrows to here and there and circled text that I thought was important to the “alive” feeling.
    I’m still trying to figure out how she does that.

  3. Naked Once More was the 4th and last Kirby; I’m just late getting to it.

    Mary Stewart certainly could write. Lately, I find myself re-reading older authors just to get the joy of well-crafted sentences, and passages that Evoke.
