Glad you took some time for faffing around. We all need it.
Did you drop in on the establishment mentioned in the photo? I know you’re both interested in (Maine) rocks and minerals!
In spite of the lake being down 8 feet–leaving us with mud flats that could not be used for launching even a kayak, much less a canoe or other vessel–I had a relaxing and refreshing time, and stayed long enough to see the turning of the leaves: wonderful golden birches and scarlet maples standing out in the midst of the dark firs and pines.
Which establishment — the jeweler? Yes, we did. She had some very nice things, all by Maine artisans, of course.
Which lake was down — Moosehead? I thought we’d recovered from the early drought.
