Be Welcome in My House
…metaphorically speaking, of course.
My name is Sharon Lee and I’m a writer. With Steve Miller, I’ve co-written sixteen science fiction novels, most set in the Liaden Universe® — a space opera geography of our own devising. Steve and I have also written two dark fantasy novels — Duainfey and Longeye – and dozens of short stories together.
Off of my own name I’ve written two Maine-based mysteries — Barnburner and Gunshy – and contemporary fantasy Carousel Tides.
2011 has gotten off to a rocky start, personally, with some serious health issues that needed immediate attention. We’re getting back on track now, with three more Liaden books under contract to Baen. Dragon Ship, is the sequel to the upcoming Ghost Ship, and Trade Secret is the long-awaited sequel to Balance of Trade, Hal Clement Award winner for Best YA Science Fiction of 2005. The third book, at this writing title-less, will introduce new characters and storyline.
Baen is continuing to re-issue the Liaden Universe® backlist in a series of omnibus editions. The Agent Gambit, which includes Agent of Change and Carpe Diem, hit the shelves in early January. Coming up in May is Korval’s Game — including Plan B and I Dare — and, in September, The Crystal Variation, including Crystal Soldier, Crystal Dragon, and Balance of Trade.
In addition to the omnibus editions, this year will see the mass market paperback releases of Saltation, the second book of Theo Waitley; and Longeye, the sequel to Duainfey.
As if that weren’t enough Crunchy Goodness, the long (and oh-so-very-patiently) awaited sequel to I Dare and Saltation — Ghost Ship — will be published in August.
In addition to writing three novels and a couple of short stories, Steve and I will be doing a little bit of traveling this year. In June, we’ll be panelists at PortConMaine. And, we’ll be attending Renovation, the 69th World Science Fiction Convention, in Reno, in August. Looking forward to 2012, we’ll be guests of honor at ChattaCon 37, in Chattanooga.
For the moment, that’s all the news that’s fit to print.
Thanks for stopping by.
